April McCrave Programme Manager New Frontiers in Dundalk

Where are you from and how did you get here?

I am from Dundalk with a degree in Business and Law (Hons) from Griffith College Dublin. With extensive experience in retail operations, commercial strategy, project management, and brand scaling, I have worked across Ireland, the UK, and the Middle East. To further enhance my expertise, I have completed a Professional Diploma in Project Management from the Project Management Institute. Over the past several years, I have supported a variety of start-ups in the pharmaceutical, tech, and energy sectors, leveraging their project management skills to drive growth and innovation.

What is it about business and start-ups that so interests you?

What truly excites me about working with start-ups is the people involved. They bring a unique energy to the business, constantly working hard to navigate challenges and find solutions that drive success. Their passion and dedication are what make the journey so rewarding.

When did you become a New Frontiers PM and what inspired you to become one?

I joined as a New Frontiers Programme Manager in September 2024. Throughout my career, I’ve always been drawn to early-stage and scaling companies. I find great inspiration in supporting these businesses and working closely with the people behind them as they navigate their growth journey. This passion for helping companies thrive is what led me to take on the role of Programme Manager.

What do you feel are the qualities you bring to the role?

With a strong background in communication, project management, and commercialisation, alongside my experience in developing training both professionally and through my hobbies, I am passionate about helping and guiding others on their start-up journey. I look forward to continuing to support individuals and businesses as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of growing their ventures.
